This page is to assist clinicians and admin staff to support the virtual vaccination hubs. It will assist staff to set up their ICT requirements, show them how to use the softphone to receive and make calls and book a patient into a covid vaccination clinic via cross organisation slot from their own practice instance of EMIS.
IT Onboarding
VPN Access
If users wish to access EMIS Web outside of a GP Surgery (i.e from Home) they will need to have VPN access back onto the HSCN (Health & Social Care Network). Users will need to obtain a VPN account from xxxx and connect to the VPN from the link below.
EMIS Web
If users wish to use their own kit they can download and install EMIS Web. To install and use EMIS Web users must be connected to the VPN. Users should also enable the Configuration Switcher so they can switch between different instances (GP Surgeries) of EMIS Web.

X-ON Surgery Connect 'Softphone'
X-ON Surgery Connect provides 'softphone' access that enables users to make and receive phone calls from any device connected to the Internet using a modern web browser (i.e. Chrome, IE11, Firefox, Safari). Users will need an account to login and preferably a USB headset. Users do not need to be connected to the VPN to access the softphone. To access the softphone simply click on the link below.

Booking a Cross-Org Slot
Making sure they are connected to the VPN and have the EMIS Web Configuration Switcher enabled, users can open EMIS Web from their Desktop and enter the organisation number of the EMIS Instance where the patient they wish to book for a Covid Vaccine is registered.
