    Fleming

For those working remotely via the remote desktop, you will have not been able to send SMS messages to date via AccuRx Chain.

AccuRx have released “Fleming” which is a web based version of AccuRx which will allow you to send SMS to patients from any device.

You will need to have logged into chain before from a practice (there for have a registered nhs.net or nhs.uk email address)

    • Go to https://fleming.accurx.com/

    • Choose NHS.uk if you have a practice email address. (nhs.net if you registered with that instead)

    • Select logon.

    • Log in with your email and password.

    • You then have the option to select video consultation or SMS.

N.B – You will need to know the patients NHS number and Date of birth. (get this info from Emis Web)

Fleming DOES NOT require an HSCN connection (😊)  therefore you can initiate a video consultation from your home PC outside of the Remote desktop. It will not work within the remote desktop due to lack of sound.

SMS can be sent from within the remote desktop as its just text.

  • Telephone & Video Consultations
  • Practice Laptops

SWFT have deployed the remainder of the CCG procured laptops to practices to assist with home working. It is advised that VPN connected laptops are allocated to clinicians who can authorise EPS tokens for other members of the Practice.

    Remote working - laptops

GP practice staff will increasingly need to work from home or in settings outside the practice. Some areas have already deployed laptops or other forms of remote working for practice staff. Where this has not happened and where additional equipment is urgently needed, local commissioners will provision the equipment and support services. If local commissioners are unable to respond either through lack of equipment or funding or both, we will support them nationally. Please note that any equipment used for access to clinical systems must conform with Securing Excellence in Primary Care: The Primary Care (GP ) Digital Services Operating Model 2020-21 standards.. A minimum specification and guidance for any laptop devices procured for emergency purposes can be found at the end of this section.

  • Remote Working

Remote working – Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)

NHSX has provided advice on staff using their own devices for access to NHS systems during this period.

If your Data Protection Officer or Caldicott Guardian is unsure of appropriate action to take, you can direct Information Governance questions to the NHSX IG Policy team. If local commissioners are unable to respond either through lack of equipment or funding or both, we will support them nationally, please ask that they contact pcdt@nhsx.nhs.uk..

    Remote working

The most appropriate method of connection is via a HSCN VPN token which will provide connectivity to the clinical application, we are stipulating the provision of smart card readers to enable spine connected services to function. Further connection to practice specific information such as shared drives etc. should only be provided through devices supplied and maintained by your GP IT delivery partner. This approach eliminates a number of security and data handling risks. We are continually reviewing alternative methods to provide remote working capability and will be working with partners in NHS Digital and local systems to explore options.

  • Zoom Video Conferencing

Zoom Video conferencing is avaialable to all PCNs and their Practices.

Webcams have been purchased for all practices to support this.

Usernames and passwords for PCN Zoom accounts  have been distributed to Clinical Directors.
