1. Hot hubs - update
In order to better support primary care with the COVID-19 situation, the CCGs have been working closely with the relevant Primary Care Networks and Federations/Alliance and LMC at Place to finalise the details of the “hot hubs” assessment centres. There are now a number of hubs in each place: Coventry, Rugby, South Warwickshire and Warwickshire North.
The are available to be referred in to and referrals are being accepted over the Bank Holiday weekend and across the weekend.
Also extended access is available.

2. Staff testing - update
There has been a separate email on staff testing for the bank holiday sent to a lead at each practice.
3. UHCW Outpatient Guidance for Primary Care during COVID-19
2 Week Wait Referrals
ALL 2 week wait referrals will be accepted. Referrals will be triaged by a consultant as normal.
We are aware there have been issues with this, we are urgently following up on any 2WW referrals that have been identified as being rejected.
All other new referrals
We very much appreciate the support of Primary Care in ensuring that routine patients do not get referred during this time, however we will continue to accept ALL other referrals. They will fall into the following category:
1. Clinically urgent and booked into an urgent slot (this will be either virtually or in some cases, face to face).
2. Placed on a monitoring list and flagged (each speciality will be reviewing their monitoring list on a regular basis). No re-referral required for this group of patients by GP.
3. Managed with advice and guidance to the GP and patient
4. Assessed as low priority and referred back to their GP (we are expecting these to be low in volume). These will need to be re-referred at a later date, as needed.
All Appointment Cancellations
We are holding a central log of all appointments that have been cancelled (including those on the NHS eReferral Service). We will rebook patients into either virtual or face to face appointments via our booking team. We do not expect patients who have been cancelled by the hospital to be re referred. We have texted all patients that had an appointment booked, asking them not to attend the hospital and to confirm we will be in contact with them by phone.
We are currently working with primary care colleagues in the RSS team to review how we can support the management of routine referrals and communication will be sent out in due course.
