1. **URGENT** PLEASE NOTE: COVID TEST RESULTS
CWPS and UHCW have kindly agreed to send a daily list of all Covid results (positive and negative) to you via your usual pathology reporting system. The result will have the attached comment ‘Hospital requested CoVid-19 test copied to GP. Result provided to patient by hospital’
This will start tomorrow (21 April 2020).
The initial transmission will be a historical one and will include all historic tests and after that results will be issued daily.
The results do not come through coded so please use the following SNOMED Codes:
For negative tests: Coronavirus disease 19 caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 excluded by laboratory test code 1321111000000101
For positive tests: Coronavirus disease 19 caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 confirmed by laboratory test code 1300721000000109
For borderline/insufficient sample: Detection of SARS-CoV-2 (severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2) using polymerase chain reaction technique code 1240511000000106
Please note the following:-
1. You do not have to notify patients of the results
2. Patients will not be contacting the practice for these results
3. These results will still form part of the discharge information and will also be in your usual pathology database e.g. ICE or CRRS
This information is simply to help you manage patient care and support you and your teams in practice.
Results are from all testing done in all local Acute Trusts/community services and from Care Homes.

LATEST LOCAL UPDATE
3. Notifiable Disease Update to now incl. COVID-19
The Secretary of State has made amendments to the Health Protection (Notification) Regulations 2010 to now include COVID-19.
As you will be aware Registered Medical Practitioners have a statutory duty to notify the local health protection team of suspected cases of infectious diseases. Please complete the attached notification form immediately on diagnosis of a suspected notifiable disease (see attached document for full list of notifiable diseases).
With immediate effect completed forms should be submitted to Health Protection by email to phe.wmnoids@nhs.net. To ensure patient confidentiality and to comply with GDPR this form should only be sent from an nhs.net address. (Attachment: Updated NOIDS April 2020.doc).
4. Central Alerting System: Considerations For Personal Protective Equipment
This alert aims to highlight the sessional use and reuse of personal protective equipment (PPE) when there are severe shortages of supply. The considerations are to ensure that health and care workers are appropriately protected from COVID-19, where items of PPE are unavailable and should be considered as temporary measures until the global supply chain is adequate to meet the UK’s needs. The reuse of PPE should be implemented until confirmation of adequate re-supply is in place. The attached alert contains further information. (Attachment: CEM-CM0-2020-018.pdf)
5. Phlebotomy Services for ‘shielded’ patients and others
Message sent from Beth Harrison, Consultant Haematologist and CWPS Clinical Lead for Phlebotomy outlining what they are doing to optimise access to safe blood tests for patients who are the most vulnerable to COVID-19. They are doing this through developing “Pop Up” clinics and maximising the availability of Home Visits. (Attachment: GP Shielded Patient GP Message v2.docx)
6. Coaching support
Some of you may have heard in last week’s general practice webinar that an individual coaching support offer will be made available by the end of this week to the frontline primary care workforce, both clinical and non-clinical, to proactively support staff through Covid-19 and beyond. The aim is that this will provide staff with opportunities to process experiences, develop coping skills, deal with difficult conversations and develop strategies for self-management in difficult circumstances.
This service is being developed in collaboration with the Royal College of General Practitioners and will complement the wider range of health and wellbeing resources that was launched at www.people.nhs.uk. Primary care staff will be able to easily register via an online platform at www.people.nhs.uk and book individual coaching from an experienced coach in a way and at a time of day that suits them.
A launch webinar is taking place on Friday 24 April 3pm to share specific details about the service.
7. Children and Young People 24/7 Crisis Line
With the current Covid-19 situation we are all facing, this has certainly been challenging for us all. To support, and under the request of NHS England, a 24/7 mental health crisis line for children and young across Coventry and Warwickshire is now operational, effective from Friday 10 April 2020.
